Gorga – lion wooden statue is believed by Batak traditional tribe as guardian of the house. Placed in the front area of Batak Home, this unique ornamental lion face statue keeps the house safe from danger and bad influence. The stucture of lion’s face can be identified by the eyes – circles with lines, nose – strips inside square, and mouth – two trapeziums with lines. Inspired by Gorga’s face structure, Gorga typeface is designed with two main characteristic of the statue; eye and layered lines. These two elements appear in every single character from A-Z, but some characters are designed with complete face structure.
